Government 2305 is a study of the organization, functions, and administration of the several branches and agencies of the national government, including a study of the federal constitution. The primary factors considered relate to the three branches of government -- judicial, executive, legislative -- major historical documents, the events that shaped the nation, and current events. Emphasis will be placed on the interaction of these subsystems. 48 contact hours. Credit: Three semester hours.

Explain the origin and development of constitutional democracy in the United States.

You will have a comprehensive final over the course of this semester. The final will be 100 questions. The final is cumulative and will have a total of one hundred multiple choice questions.
You will have two research assignments on a prompt provided by the instructor in ecampus. Research assignments should be saved in a Word or .rtf format with normal alignment and font size 12 Times New Roman settings.
Online quizzes are assigned for each chapter. Quizzes will consist of 10 questions over the assigned readings, documentaries or lecture. Quizzes cannot be made up or taken afterwards, unless a school approved trip or religious activity interferes that you have proper documentation for to present to me prior to that activity occurring. Grades will be made available immediately after submission through the "Progress" tab on ecampus, underneath "grades."
You will have a discussion board for each chapter of the course. Students will write an original post based on the prompt assigned in the discussion forum. Students will also respond to two other students posts each chapter. The original post and replies due as listed in the syllabus schedule.

There will be fifteen discussion board assignments worth a maximum of thirty points per assignment.

There will be two research assignments worth 100 points.
There will be fifteen quizzes worth a maximum of ten points per quiz.

There will be a cumulative final examination worth 200 points.

The last date to drop this course with a "Q," is Friday, July 27, 2018.
- There are no make-ups for anything in the course. If properly paced, there is plenty of time to complete all assignments. If there is a scheduling conflict with the final date for each section, complete the assignment early!
- Unless the Academic Help Desk sends me an email stating that e-campus was unavailable for you for a specific amount of time, I will not accept late work. It is your responsibility to make sure your computer is functioning properly and that you are maintaining a secure internet connection.
- Discussion Posts will be graded within one week of submission.
- Quiz scores will be graded immediately after their submission.
- The Final Exam will be graded immediately after its submission.
- Research Assignments will be graded within one week of submission.
In this online format, failure to complete the assignments for each module will count as one week of unexcused absences.
