Description


A case study in Convergence Technologies requiring a network engineer to study a problem and design a network solution for an enterprise network.

Core Curriculum Statement


This course is not a core curriculum course.

Outcomes


1. Apply network concepts to an enterprise network.

2. Evaluate a network problem identified by a business.

3. Work as a member of a design team to study a network problem and design an efficient network that will increase productivity.

4. Document the process for the network design.

Course Requirements


Transfers to BAAS degree at SHSU.

Transfers to BAS-IT degree at UHCL.

Evaluation


Criteria

Exams 50%  

Four major exams and a comprehensive final exam

Course Project 40%  

Class teams design a sub-netted local area network

Class Participation 10%  

Daily contributions to discussion and labs
